TUTMESZ-TEKAL – Demo CD/2002

“Tutmesz-Tekal is the name of a city located beyond time and space. The city was created by magic by a zealot — an idealist — and his disciples, in order to escape all the evil of this world. Originally, it was not situated beyond time, nor even beyond space. It was founded in the south of medieval Spain. However, as a result of magical experiments,
it separated like a bubble from our reality, drifting toward the unknown.”

This is the second demo of Percival Schuttenbach. It was created in the spring of 2002 and is the first attempt to realize the multimedia story ‘Alhambra,’ conceived and developed
in the minds of the Rybacki siblings since the band’s inception. Its preview was already the album ‘Moribuka.” Musically, the album is a continuation of the path laid out by “Moribuka,” although it includes several experiments, as well as, within the framework of the demo, effects of collaboration with the Belarusian choir Kniażycz and inspirations resulting from cooperation with the band Ovo. The musicians intended the album to showcase the diverse fields the band was exploring at the time — conflicting musical fascinations, sonic and formal experiments, and above all, the wealth of ideas born during the work on the multimedia story “Alhambra.” Lacking sufficient technical capabilities to realize their vision, both in the musical aspect and especially in the multimedia layer, Percival Schuttenbach consciously abandoned the coherence of the demo and focused on demonstrating the diversity, versatility, and potential of their ideas.
